Best RSPS Servers 2026

Every RuneScape private server here is ranked by votes from its own players this month. Use the tags to narrow by what you actually want to play — OSRS-style economies, custom bossing, PvP and PKing, or an Ironman account on a fresh server.

Types of RSPS

Private servers differ far more from each other than official RuneScape worlds do. These are the broad types you will meet on the list.

OSRS private servers(25)

Built on the Old School RuneScape game cache, usually with a RuneLite-compatible client. Expect familiar skills, bosses and raids with faster XP rates and quality-of-life changes the official game does not have.

PvM and bossing servers(28)

Progression built around boss kills, raids and gear upgrades. The difference between them is usually drop rates, how many custom bosses exist and whether the end-game is reachable without donating.

PvP and PK servers(12)

Spawn or fast-gear servers where the wilderness is the point. Look at the active player count before joining — a PK server is only as good as the number of people to fight.

Ironman RSPS(28)

Servers offering Ironman, Hardcore and Ultimate Ironman modes, where you cannot trade and every item is self-earned. Ironman rewards a server with a long-term economy and a low chance of a reset.

Economy servers(23)

Player-driven markets where prices are set by trading rather than spawned items. Economy servers live or die by their population, so the live count matters more here than anywhere.

Custom RSPS(15)

Servers that go beyond the original game with their own skills, zones, raids and item tiers. Good custom servers document their content; check the website before you invest time.

Pre-EoC and 718 servers(11)

Recreations of RuneScape before the Evolution of Combat update in late 2012, typically on the 718 revision or similar, for players who want the 2011–2012 combat system and content.

Mobile RSPS(3)

Servers with an Android or iOS client, letting you play the same account on a phone and a PC. Check whether mobile is a full client or a limited companion before relying on it.

How to choose an RSPS

  • Check the live player count and the vote trend rather than the banner. A server with steady votes all month has a community that keeps coming back.
  • Read the reviews for mentions of resets, wipes and staff behaviour — those decide whether hours spent on an account are safe.
  • Look at how the server makes money. Cosmetic donations are normal; donator-only gear or zones change who can reach the end-game.
  • Pick the revision and mode first (OSRS, 317, pre-EoC, Ironman, PvP), then compare servers inside that group.

About RSPS Servers on VoteRank

RSPS is the oldest scene on this site and the most opinionated. The list runs the full spread: 317 and 474 revision servers chasing 2007 as faithfully as they can, OSRS-style economies with grand exchange and bossing, custom servers with their own skills and raids, and pure PvP worlds where you spawn geared and go straight to the wilderness. Most RSPS reward you in-game for voting — a mystery box, a vote ticket, a bond. Servers with a reward badge deliver it automatically: type your in-game name before you vote and the server hands it over within seconds. That is also why RSPS vote counts run so much higher than the other lists here, and why the ranking resets every month rather than accumulating forever.

Frequently asked questions

How are RSPS servers ranked?

Primarily by votes cast in the current calendar month, with live player count breaking ties. Counters reset on the 1st, so a new server can reach the top in its first month.

Can I get rewards for voting?

Yes. Servers with incentive voting enabled show a reward badge — enter your in-game name before voting and the server hands you the reward automatically.

What is an RSPS?

RSPS stands for RuneScape private server: an independently run server that recreates or modifies RuneScape. They are not operated by or affiliated with Jagex, and each one sets its own XP rates, content and rules.

What is the difference between a 317 and a 718 RSPS?

The numbers refer to the game client revision a server is built on. 317 is a 2006-era client associated with classic RuneScape 2; 718 dates from 2012, with high-detail graphics and the pre-EoC combat system. OSRS-based servers use the modern Old School cache instead.

Are RSPS servers free to play?

Almost all of them are free to download and play. Most fund hosting through optional donations or a store; how much those purchases affect gameplay varies a lot between servers, so it is worth checking before you start.

What is the best RSPS for Ironman?

Look for servers tagged Ironman with a stable economy and no history of resets, since an Ironman account is only worth building on a server that will still exist. The Ironman filter on this list shows every server offering the mode, ranked by this month's votes.
