Terms of Service
These terms cover using VoteRank — browsing lists, voting, listing a server and buying advertising. By using the site you agree to them.
Last updated 23 August 2026
1. Who we are
VoteRank operates voterank.net, a community-voted directory of game servers, Discord servers, streamers and games. Where these terms say “we” or “us” they mean the operator of VoteRank; “you” means anyone using the site.
2. Accounts
You need an account to list a server, vote where a list requires it, write a review or buy advertising. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself.
- One person, one account. Extra accounts created to cast additional votes will all be removed.
- You must be old enough to consent to data processing where you live — 13 in most places, 16 in parts of the EU.
- Give a real email address. Account recovery and vote-fraud appeals both go through it.
3. Listings
Anyone can list a server for free. Listings appear immediately — there is no approval queue — but they stay only as long as they follow these rules.
- List something you own or are authorised to represent.
- One listing per server. Duplicates of a server already listed are removed, and repeat attempts cost you the account.
- Describe the server accurately. Fake player counts, fake features and misleading names are grounds for removal.
- No content that is illegal where we or you operate, sexual content involving minors, targeted harassment, or malware.
- Servers distributing pirated game clients or stolen accounts are removed on sight.
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us a licence to display it on VoteRank and in previews of VoteRank pages elsewhere — that is the whole point of listing.
4. Voting
Votes are the ranking. Manipulating them is the one thing that makes the whole site worthless, so we treat it seriously.
- One vote per person, per listing, per cooldown period. The cooldown is set by the listing owner and is never shorter than 12 hours.
- No bots, scripts, proxy or VPN farms, paid votes, or vote exchanges with other servers.
- Incentive rewards are between the server and its players. We deliver the callback; what the server hands out is its own business.
- We remove votes we believe are fraudulent, and we do not have to explain the detection in detail — explaining it precisely is how it gets evaded.
Persistent manipulation gets a listing suspended and its owner banned. Vote counts removed in an anti-fraud action are not restored.
5. Reviews
Reviews should describe your own experience of a server. We remove reviews that are paid for, written by the owner or a competitor, or that exist only to abuse someone. Owners can reply publicly to any review of their listing but cannot delete one.
6. Advertising and payments
Advertising runs on a prepaid balance. You deposit funds, then spending is drawn against that balance as your campaign delivers.
- All prices are in euros and shown inclusive of any applicable tax at checkout.
- Clicks and impressions are billed at the rates shown when the campaign is created. Charges are deducted as they happen and are listed in your transaction history.
- Banners are reviewed before they run. We can decline a banner for any reason, and will say which.
- Deposited funds buy advertising on VoteRank. They are not withdrawable as cash.
- Unspent balance stays on the account. If we close the site we will refund unspent balance.
- We do not bill for traffic our systems identify as automated, and clicks filtered that way are not deducted.
Premium placement is a fixed-duration purchase. It highlights a listing; it does not change its rank. If you buy premium expecting it to move you up the list, this is us telling you plainly that it will not.
7. The API
Listing owners get API keys for their own listings. Keys are scoped to your own data, and rate limits apply. Do not share keys, and rotate them if one leaks. Using the API to bulk-collect other people’s listing data is not permitted; see the API documentation for what is.
8. Availability
We run VoteRank as reliably as we can, but we do not promise uptime. Live player counts come from third parties — Steam, Twitch, TibiaData, and the servers themselves — and can be wrong or unavailable through no fault of ours. Rankings, features and prices can change.
9. Suspension and termination
We can suspend or remove a listing, or an account, that breaks these terms. Where it is a first offence and not fraud, we will normally say what is wrong and give you a chance to fix it. You can delete your own account at any time from your dashboard; deleting an account removes its listings.
10. Liability
VoteRank is a directory. We do not run the servers we list, we do not vet them beyond these rules, and we are not responsible for what happens to you on one — including anything you buy from a server owner. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
11. Changes
We will update these terms as the site changes. Material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use VoteRank after that means you accept the new version.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms go through the contact form under the “Legal” topic.
